EarthDance Austin deferment

August 4th, 2009

To All EDA Supporters:

Due to severe budgetary restrictions, the EarthDance Austin event due to be held in late September of 2009 has been postponed hopefully until spring of 2010. We are in negotiations right now with the Apache Pass venue and Tribal Elements to hold an alternate event during the original weekend of September 25th through 27th where the tickets and vendor booths already purchased will be honored. Some of the bands that we had lined up for EarthDance Austin may still be playing at the Tribal Elements event as well. More information will be released as it is confirmed.

This decision has come after many long hours of deliberation and soul-searching, and it is with a heavy heart that we have reached this conclusion. We have come into contact with so many incredible people with so much love and passion for the world, and we felt that we owe them the opportunity for their contributions to be positive and significant. Without the extra funding, we realized that we were not going to be able to host an event worthy of the devotion that the caring public provided.

The EarthDance Austin corporation will potentially be rebranding under a different name in the coming year in order to facilitate providing more of the service and opportunity that we envisioned in terms of resources for charitable fundraisers, eco-living workshops, and alternative health choices. Despite out setbacks in this first year, we are still determined to make a real and positive difference in our world.

We will release more information as it becomes available. We thank you deeply for your support and patience during this time.

The Blog is Live!

April 27th, 2009

At last, we have a working program for our blog! Now, you can find out all the fun and amazing stuff as quickly as we do!

To start with, almost all of the bands are booked. Just in case you missed it, our headlining act is none other than Spoonfed Tribe, being led to the stage by Cas Haley.

We have a number of openings for vendors right now. We'd like to see the majority of our shops populated by hand-made and/or earth-friendly items, but we'd also love to see some folks out there selling body glitter, umbrellas, spritzer fans, and other things to keep cool in the Texas sun.

And speaking of being cool, we're also just about ready to start taking applications for Volunteers. Check back later this week for the sign-up form, but if you can't wait that long, email Darla.
